The Village classroom is an inviting open space, filled with natural light and arranged into areas that provide students with repeated access to the five essential experiences of early childhood development; blocks, dramatic play, gross motor, art and sensory experiences.
Each area within the classroom is filled with carefully chosen materials that have been arranged to encourage exploration, support development and promote independence. The arrangement of the classroom allows children and their play to flow seamlessly between these areas, while giving them space which with they can build, sort, create, spread out, construct, experiment, pretend, work by themselves and/or with others. In addition, Village has the unique opportunity to have the outside area connected to the classroom, making it available to the students and their explorations throughout the day.
We invite you to come in and visit the classroom and philosophy in action.
“The young mind generates the impulse to take hold of the world, to understand it, and to bear witness to its wondrous wealth.”
