Co-Lead Preschool Teacher
Village Preschool is looking for a Co-Lead Teacher who loves working with children and families, and is familiar with the co-op model and play based early education.

Hours: 8:30am-12:30 pm, M-F
The Co-Lead Teacher also attends occasional member meetings and meets weekly with the other Co-Lead Teacher.
The ideal candidate will:
Have an Associate’s degree in early childhood education/child development or relevant experience
Have at least two years’ experience working with preschoolers in a group setting
Be able to work cooperatively with parents and the other Co-Lead Teacher
Have experience developing and implementing a play-based preschool curriculum
Requirements: Enrollment in the Central Background Registry, RRCAN, a Food Handlers Permit, and Infant and Child CPR/First Aid certifications.

Rules are enforced without rewarding, punishing or praising, and we believe active family involvement, a strong parent education program, and continual school-home communication to be essential to growth. Since 1955, Village Preschool has a rich history as a cooperative play school. Our school was created by parents in Southwest Portland who came together to form a community where their children could grow and play together and parents could maintain meaningful involvement in their children’s early learning. We look forward to welcoming an Assistant Teacher who will work collaboratively to continue this mission.
